25.12.15 — Trial Students and General Improvements

• Trial students can now be added. Trial students do not have access to the student portal and only receive lesson reminders. Teachers can schedule lessons, mark attendance, create charges, post assignments, and share files in advance. These items remain hidden until the student completes registration and is promoted to a full student—making it easy to prepare for new students after a trial lesson.
• Locations now automatically link to Google Maps when a standard address is detected. Non-address locations remain plain text.
• Added grace note support to the composition widget.
• You can now adjust font size in the composition editor.

Improvements

• Studio announcement editing has been moved to a modal workflow for a smoother editing experience.
• Updated UI to more clearly indicate when a student is locked on a posted transaction. Transactions can still be edited or deleted, but students cannot be swapped once posted.
• Improved mobile layout so recurring transactions are easier to read and no longer appear compressed.
• Content inserted from the editor menu (images, compositions, files) now follows a consistent, standardized button style.
• Improved account permission handling to better comply with legal and COPPA-related requirements. After a student completes registration, teachers can no longer change account emails or add/remove administrators. Prior to registration, teachers retain full setup control.

Fixes

• Fixed an issue where lesson and activity dates could appear off by one day when a student’s timezone differed significantly from the browser’s timezone.
• Resolved a composition widget beaming issue.
• Fixed a bug where the Feedback textarea could not receive focus while a modal was open.
