26.02.02 — Practice Momentum
Feb. 2, 2026
We’ve introduced Practice Momentum, a new feature designed to encourage consistent daily practice while keeping flexibility, clarity, and student well-being at the center.
A Smarter Practice Streak
- Momentum tracks consecutive days practice is logged
- Reflects daily consistency, not total practice time
- Multiple practice sessions can still be logged in a single day
Momentum rewards showing up regularly, without demanding perfection.
Built-In Flexibility with Practice Grace
- Students earn Practice Grace through consistent practice
- Grace can be used to cover occasional missed days
- Grace is never used automatically and is always optional
This allows momentum to support real life interruptions without creating pressure or guilt.
Clear, Predictable Behavior
- Momentum updates only when new practice is logged
- Nothing changes silently or retroactively
- Students always know what will happen next
If a streak ends, the next practice always starts fresh at day one.
Fresh Starts, Not Failures
- Momentum resets are framed as a fresh start
- Restarting momentum is always allowed
- Practice time and stats are never affected by resets
Practice is never wasted, and long-term progress is always preserved.
Separate from Practice Stats
- Practice stats track total minutes and history
- Stats are permanent and never reset
- Momentum is a separate indicator of daily consistency
Even when momentum resets, the full practice record remains intact.
Designed for Motivation, Not Pressure
- Forward-only design reduces guilt and anxiety
- Clear rules build trust and confidence
- Encourages habits without punishing missed days
Practice Momentum helps students stay engaged, return to practice more often, and build sustainable routines over time.
